The first Paris-Nice, a well-renowned race in France, took place in 1933. Since then, the greatest cyclists have won this one-week time-trial which connects the French capital to one of the most beautiful cities of the Mediterranean, Nice, on the French Riviera.

Pialat once said “if you’re not a genius, you might as well stop”. Before becoming a well-respected filmmaker, Maurice Pialat was very involved in painting in his teenage years. Lacking confidence for his future, he quickly abandoned painting to focus on cinema.
